Bateman Architects was founded in November 1989 by Norm Bateman, a third-generation architect with a strong background in public health architecture. Inspired by his experiences, Norm established the firm to expand his vision of architecture, believing in the transformative power of design, capable of enriching daily experiences and creating spaces filled with meaning and purpose. In 2010, John Nichols joined as Design Director, further strengthening the firm's mission to create inspiring and engaging spaces.
Guided by the principles of observing, listening, and learning to the unique needs of clients and communities, each project is approached with a focus on collaboration and teamwork. Projects reflect a strong sense of responsibility and involve close collaboration with clients to achieve a shared vision while ensuring alignment with their needs and the surrounding context.
